I know one album of Herbie Hancock at least where Mellotron is stated on the cover
(but not featured very obviously), and the first album of "Jazz Mandolin Project" (which
is, too, a more or less rare instrument in Jazz!) the bass player is credited to use it,
but I have never found out for what...! Maybe he used it for SFX? Anybody has this
record, too?

Ah, now, if we're getting into the realms of fusion... Hancock used one on
three albums, Jan Hammer, Passport (as has alrady been mentioned), obscure
Spaniards Iceberg, Return to Forever's live album (anyone got this to
confirm? 'Tron apparently played by Gayle Moran), recently deceased Polish
keyboard maestro Czeslaw Niemen... loads.
