KC Hyde Park video

Frank S. asks: On the subject of "debut" performances, is there any footage/pics of KC's Hyde Park concert? There is, however it's 130 mute seconds: shows Greg Lake vocaling & wailing on bass, Ian McDonald jamming on sax, a brief glimpse of Robert Fripp guitaring on the stool, and no Mellotron. After many years of searching, I finally landed this video clip about a year ago -- and I had to trade a pretty rare gem of early Santana to get it. I was able to read Lake's lips enough to place the two songs on the video clip: 21st Century Schizoid Man and Get Thy Bearings. I then took the audio of the '69 Hyde Park show (from unfortunately named "In Support of Their Satanic Majesties" CD boot, out last year) and dubbed it onto the video -- it comes out surprisingly true, thus there's now about 2 minutes of Crimson. The video also shows Jagger & Co. singing Ruby Tuesday. There's also some 5 minutes of footage of hippies grooving on that fine summer afternoon in Hyde Park. I've gotten through around 3/4 of Sid Smith's tome on KC -- an insightful, thoughtful and at times whimsical piece of work. The KC roller coaster seems to continue as RF has evidently shut down the DGM enterprise -- perhaps a new era in the making. Rob M400 #1095 Rob
