OT: Pierre Moerlen [Gong] dies.

though i don't think gong ever used a mellotron
[at least that i can think of this moment], some
of you europrog fans will know the name.

Pierre died unexpectedly in his sleep on May 3rd 2005 whilst rehearsing a
new band in the mountains near his home town of Colmar. He was excited and
happy to be birthing a new version of Pierre Moerlen's Gong, which
included brother Benoit- sadly a band which we will now never hear.

..now back to our regularly scheduled madness...

Hi Jeff, Gong did indeed use a Mellotron . I don't have their LP cover
nearby at the moment, but it featured a Mayan temple in background.
"A Sprinkling Of Clouds" was the piece, if y'all can trust my memory....

You going to May-14 Gatherings perchance ?? Jonn Serrie is my fav.
spacemusician , but I'm still here in TX . Give him my best ......Jerry K.

that would be the album "you", which i have not listened
to for a couple years now [it's sad how much time i take,
or don't take actually, to listen to music lately]
come to think of it, i do recall some spacey passages
with tron strings... but it's all foggy in my brain.

i'll make a point to listen to it this weekend.
