Too much verb, and I'm wondering where the distortion comes from, but

But it's portable enough to play in my Expedition... while driving. It needs
more sounds. Perhaps they could rip Streetly off some more.

Angry but intrigued. But NOT buying .

"Sounds can be load up from a CD, individually combined and stored
up on compact flash cards."

It takes about 20mb to store 35 8-second notes. How big are CF cards
these days?

I'm wondering what the source of the samples is. They do sound
pretty good compared to the samples on my Alesis QS7.1 + Vintage
Keyboards Q Card.

Last year: 1GB CompactFlash, $175 on EBay. I bought one for my
PDA. Fritz's "Loungeous Maximus" video (from my web site) is on
there ("Instant James Bond!"), as are "Improvised Waves", a bunch
of 'tron photos from Jerry, the entire tax code, schematics for Teddy
Ruxbin, a digital representation of Mike Dickson's personality, and
Martin's prom pictures from 1927.

This year: 2GB CompactFlash, $170 from on-line PC places (like Tiger
Direct), although you may be able to find it cheaper via PriceWatch
or NexTAG. I may need that for the draft of my essay about highway
line painting.

Next year: Who knows! :-)

I believe some recording decks are based on CF now. It makes a ton
of sense.

You lie! We don't have 'proms' over here. Anyway, it was 1928.

Yeah, didn't you know they went digital years ago. Now they have e-
proms.

Very cool! The entire Streetly tape library on a tiny, little memory
card!

Dear All,

But the keyboard won't feel the same and you won't get the reassuring
vibration of a capstan whizzing round!

Dear All,

The Memotron is a sample replay instrument, an MTron in a box if you will
that does nothing to imitate what actually happens when you play a real 'tron.
The sample source is known to us and thankfully is not stolen from our
tapes. It's an interesting piece but no substitute. We wish it well.

Once again genteel and professional. I just love you guys. I hope this instrument sparks a resurgence in interest in the real thing that brings you folks the success and prominence you so richly deserve - and that goes to ALL keepers of the Mellotron flame! (No, that's not a Wakeman crack...)

Hi Martin,

Welcome back from Franceland! M4000? What's that? Is that like 10
M400's?
