aaah - should have known...

so when i saw tangerine dream back in 77, they were touring with
the "laserium" light show. were there really any "lasers" involved?

or was it just a cool marketing/name thing?

the show WAS dazzling [and the chemical embellishment didn't hurt...
thank you dr. hoffman for adding to the show inadvertantly ;0) ]

Late 70's is when I first started to see real lasers on rock stages - I
believe Blue Oyster Cult was the first live show I saw with lasers, about
1977-ish. "Laserium" as far as I know, is a trademark, so was probably the
real thing.

Timothy Leary's dead...

it WAS intense.
like nothing i had seen before [even discounting the "enhancement"].

i think TD was using 3 mellotrons on that tour?
sure sounds like it... and appears that way from the pics i have seen.
i bet their roadies were just glowing with joy.
[and the piles of modular synths... ugh!]

A friend of mine worked for the Laserium years ago and they were real. What
else could develop "coherent" light and be easily directed?
The giant laser system (water cooled) that Yes toured around the same time
was something to see also.
