V Sampler 3.51. It does a ton of cool stuff. You can try it for free. It  
isn't expensive to buy.

I gig with a laptop. Hey, why not? Running Windows XP, it's just about
as stable as an actual on-stage Mellotron. ;)

I can attest to that - when touring with Julian Cope early this year, our Maker Of Noises' laptop crashed repeatedly. My M400 was solid as a rock.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
