Vibes and Glock/Tubular Bells

Vibes and Glock/Tubular Bells

2005-12-07 by tmoravan

I'm looking for any comments about these tapes.
Any thoughts/opinions?

.

Now how about from people that actually own the tapes?

I had an urge to hear some tubular bell type sounds and my regular
array of synths (mostly analog, with a PPG, Waldorf Wave, and DX-1
thrown in) just didn't do it for me.

Thanks

Season's Greetings Tom and everyone,

I ordered the split glockenspiel/tubular bells from Streetly four years ago.

Wished there was more range on the bells for that Mike Oldfield moment.
BTW, the Strawbs used Tron tubular bells on ending phrases of "Ghosts"
title track LP/CD.

Vibes as recorded in the MK-II library are very bright and the keys
respond very well to the initial attack .

The Moodies used pitch-bending vibes on "Floating" from their
"To Our Children's..............." LP/CD .

Hope this helps, -- Jerry K.

Yeah, and the "Browns, reds and golds of Autumn are lying dead in about 60 bags at the bottom of my driveway. Bwahahahaha.

Jerry, what's the keyboard layout for each instrument? As you know,
I've also been considering this sound and I already have plans for
the vibes. Would you recommend the marimba over the glocks/bells?
