This should catch on

This should catch on

2006-01-08 by ceccles_ca

I downloaded and paid for my 1st MP3 today. Jane "fairlight" Siberry
and Sheeba Records are trusting people with a self-determined pricing
policy.

Most record labels have been doing a SHIT job of promoting non-
mainstream albums. Jane S has been cranking out great material for
years with only a small group of fans paying attention.

This new philosophy should catch on. I'll be sending Jane more money
to help make sure it does.

Stats: 90% of purchases have been at the suggested price or above.

Gotta love the picture of her in the beret and hot pink jacket standing next
to the half-nude dude with teddy-bear makeup and ears, and an air of utter
resignation. The look on his face is just screaming "this check BETTER
clear."

I was paying attention enough here in L.A. in 1985 that even back then, I
liked what I had heard enough to go out and buy a cassette of "The
Speckless Sky".....

Highly.....HIGHLY recommended. Still.
