A study in how many problematic things you can put in
one package.

The funny thing is; it's been done before.

THAT is a 350. Solenoid operated "keys" or levers that
are literally pulled by a piece of twine. If the knot
slips, or the string stretches, or the solenoid gets
weak (electro magnet), or the key contact strip gets
dirty, you're buggered. That on top of the usual
adjustments for a chamberlin key pressure
pad/pinchroller assy. and you THEN add MIDI...and THEN
add LOGIC Audio...in a COMPUTER.

Enough to make R. Goldberg run for the hills.

Mark.

BBC Radiophonics Workshop alchemists of sound

2006-03-26 by sdavmor

An hour long program. Well worth watching if you have an interest
in this pioneering electronic/sound-effects laboratory. Includes
discussion of music concrete, tape loop techniques, work done for
"Dr. Who", "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", and legendary
BBC composers John Baker and Deliah Derbyshire, amongst other
things. It's 175mb, so it may take a while to d/l.

Following up on this, I suggest grabbing a copy before the BBC has
it removed from fatbaron.

Also, just brought to my attention: the 2 disc CD compilation of work
by Tristam Cary. He did great electro-acoustic stuff for "Quatermass
and the Pit" and a number of Dr. Who-related projects.
