Listen to this if you like mid seventies Genesis

Listen to this if you like mid seventies Genesis

2006-04-25 by kinchmusic@aol.com

Hi All.
Never heard of these guys before. Got their details from the Genesis forum.
Go to _http://www.sylvanandbonamici.com_ (http://www.sylvanandbonamici.com)
.
Yeah I know they are using sounds and song structures associated heavily
with mid seventies Genesis, and I don't like Tribute bands in general, but this
is pretty amazing. Their latest track "Quest For The Last Virtue" is
available to listen to for a limited time.
However you need 13 minutes of your time to hear the whole thing. It's well
worth it.
I wonder whether Martin and John were involved with the bands tron?
Enjoy!

I was going to turn it off after 5 seconds, like I do when Phil is on
the radio. I listened. Good stuff. Nice production. I don't know
why they try so hard to sound like Wind and Wuthering Genesis. They
could use the same song structures and instruments without mimicking.

Talented band tho !

Clay,

In their previous work I think there is more of a Peter Gabriel vibe. Still
this is good stuff from just two guys.

Their stated objective when these two guys get together is to get to
the heart of fully-realised old Genesis (i.e. "SEBTP" through "W&W").
I've heard a half dozen tunes by them (but not this one yet) and they
do it very well. I'm looking forward to the album.

Exactly. I think these guys do the cop better than anyone I've ever
heard. Their attention to detail, is spot on.
