Mellotron history then/now is what is is.....or supposed to be. I'm just one of those many different voices out-there, but with a singular goal like the others. Some like M.A. and Streetly have made greater contributions by their very nature as business units and archivists. Myself , my peers and all Tron owners have something they feel passionate enough to share with the group. All adds-up at the end of the day. Only pissing contests welcomed with fellow Tron enthusiasts would be those when we've all had our fill at the local pubs, sharing Mellotronic " tall-tales ". Hell, if former arch-rivals Pres.Bush (Sr.) and Clinton can collaborate on talk-circuit/PR circles, I'm almost certain in time that we can do similar. But no cutesy/phony "group-hugs" or that sorta stuff here. It's our individual personalities and dogged determination from all directions that make us a unique group, wouldn't you agree ? Thumbing-thru my 1800's canal history, hardened boatmen would frequently get involved in fisticuffs over a spilled drink, cargo, a woman or a few bits of money owed them. Drunk/bloodied, an hour later they pulled themselves up (or out of the canal), and slept it off . Next morning at daybreak they were a team again (captain and mule-driver), with only a hangover and a shiner as reminders . Their legacies endured over 100 years from 1824 to 1934 despite the railroads and the arrival of the automobile. .....Just an example from the past I wanted to share with you. So let's all "keep it on the level " and "tow the line" together (canal-era phrases still used today) , gang. Cheers, -JK- (enjoying some "swill")
