Lee, I mentioned that one a couple of days ago. Prob. got lost in the
melee around mid-week. Charles also made a good point about the
use ( or lack ) of Chamberlins for 50's sci-fi "B" movie soundtracks.

In retrospect, now that I view some of those lesser films with today's
perspective, they REALLY were cheesy ! The majority of explosion
and devastation was stock military footage of early A or H-bomb tests
(Houses exploding into matchsticks, pine forests denuded, jeeps
tipped over, etc.) . Just add in a cliche title, some rubber costumes
and props, some Theremin and signal-generators, there 'ya go !

.......Coming soon to a popcorn/gum infested cinema near you:
"Killer Trons from Planet Bodger " or
"The Day The Motors Stood Still" or " Eight Second Countdown"
or my favorite " The Man with the X-Ray Sampler "

OK, I'm going back to the basement to avoid the deadly Cathode Ray Gun .

Cheers, -JK- (Still loves Angelique Pettyjohn from orig. Star-Trek series)

Shawna.....oh yes! I always hoped she'd fall out of that silver bandage she was wearing...

unfortunately that beautiful actress died a tragic death....

WAR OF THE MELLOTRONS (Japanese 1967) Two massive machines go on a rampage
through Tokyo and Osaka, spewing broken tapes over the local populace

Picture this...Radiation-affected mutant MkII's with 2" tapes, CMC-10's, a
pitch-controlled half-speed brass roar, and a cycling system that spews out
deadly rays through the speakers, and whose force can only be tamed by
replacing the tapes! Who's gonna be the soul brave enough to step forward and save
the world?

I wanted a drill "thrall" like Shawna more than I wanted a Mellotron.
