Enya

My wife listens to Enya alot...and I have wondered about the string
sounds she uses too. "Sail" sounds like a Korg Triton to me. The
strings come very close to the onboard sounds a Triton can deliver (it
also could be the Yamaha like you guessed)...no trons.

maybe Martin should approach Enya about making some tron tapes of her
layered vocals:)

Hi Gang...
If memory serves, Enya was using a Kurzweil on "The Celts" and Watermark" (her first two albums)... I don't know about her more recent work. Credit should be given to Nicky Ryan (her producer) as well... the sound quality is first rate! As a matter of fact, I like using her CD's as a sound reference to check speaker quality... if "Watermark" sounds as expected, I know most everything else will sound good. If Martin could get Enya to contribute vocals to the Mellotron sound library, that would be great! However...one thing to remember, Martin: Enya's a good Catholic girl... so don't wear a dress when you approach her... i think she would be offended by your sex-change plans for the future.

Enya tapes...? Wonderful !
How about a split set Enya/Kenny G ?
For those special moments...
Just a touch of stereo chorus and a big old digital reverb and you'll be racing up the charts !

Enya - She's the one that has the big cocaine parties and destroys her
hotel rooms. Right?

Approximately how many of the instrument sounds on recent Enya
recordings are produced with a sequencer triggering samples?

I think it's ALL sequencer/sampler. 100%. (with more than just a
touch of reverb).
