Some normalizations can be very useful, like the connections to the IN, CLOCK IN, and OUT on the S&H in my Wogglebug: http://pugix.com/synth/diy-wiard-wogglebug/ Another good use for normaling of CV inputs is for the Attack, Decay, Release times on a VC envelope generator like the Oakley, so that one input to the Attack VC propagates to the other parameters. http://pugix.com/synth/oakley-sound-systems-full-vc-adsrvca/ One that did not work so great was my mod to the MOTM-390 dual LFO to normal the TRI output of the first to the VC input of the second. I tended to forget that just turning up the FM pot would introduce weirdness. Confusing if you forget about it. http://pugix.com/synth/motm-390-micro-lfo/ The Stooge format Oakley Multimix can get the royal normalizing treatment, as described here: http://www.tellun.com/motm/mods/oms902/oms902.html My Multimixes use that. It can be confusing at times, when you patch something to Input #1 and then all three pots route that signal with optional inversion to the MIX out. But in this case I'll take the possible confusion for the benefits. Fortunately, it easy to undo a normal connection that you don't like: All it takes is a pair of diagonal cutters!
