I could have use some sort of Ken Stone compatable MOTM mounting bracket. I am sure that Larry would make something alot better than what I came up with today

Thanks very much Howard for the photos. I have been considering the "jack only" mounting option, I was considering something almost exactly like you have shown. 2 jacks are plenty strong for holding a bracket. 2 issues: 1: Should I make the jack spacing fixed? That works OK for one direction but not for the other. Or, should I make one round and make the other elongated (like my normal bracket pot holes) so thatnthere is lattitude for jack spacing. 2: If you have a 1U or 2U module in the MOTM upright format, your mouting bracket is near the bottom edge. That's OK. BUT, they will not fit into the bottom row of slant cabinets. Thanks again Howard. I need feedback to make this reality. I think the Jack mounting Idea is great. Perhaps make the holes a little oversized for a little play if the panel holes are slightly off... Or how about a hybrid Pot/ jack hole bracket.... Oversizing the jack holes is a no-no. The bracket must rest on the shoulder of the threaded bushing. If you drop off of it, you run the risk of tightening against the plastic. Of course they would be very slightly larger to accomodate slight panel hole error. But, it would be better to oversize the panel hole if needed after the fact. That is what I was suggesting one might be like my pot holes. > Or how about a hybrid Pot/ jack hole bracket.... Yes, I was "thinking" about that. My goal is to create only one new bracket to work with up to the 6" x 3" PCB size and have a mounting scheme that could be used with any. Maybe I am being un-realistic. Any and all ideas and feedback appreciated. Larry __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo http://search.yahoo.com

I'm not pressure selling here, just making sure no one who expressed interest gets left out because they may not keep up with the MOTM list. Here is the notice I sent to the MOTM list. Please scroll all the way to the bottom for some additional information not posted to the MOTM list: ------- Original MOTM list message ---------- OK, I finally have found enough time to get things rolling for ordering Stooge panels. Here is the scoop: All the metal is already cut All the metal is already painted and waiting to go to the printer. The printer is expecting to work on our order in June. We are anticipating delivery to you in July. I have all the new prices posted in chart form to make everything easy. Prices for existing designs start at only $16.95. Since the fixed cost portion (screen set up fees) of panels has gone up, this sliding scale accurately reflects cost. The more panels ordered of each design, the cheaper they get. So if 10 different people order a total of 16 of the JLH-822 panel, everyone who ordered gets the 16 panel ordered rate. It is not necessary to combine into group orders to get the better rate. That happens automatically for everyone. I want to try to get all ordering done in a couple of weeks if possible. Invoices will go out when ordering is complete. Please try to pay your invoice in a week if you can. By the time I get your money, your metal will already be at the printer getting printed. If you happen to be the only one to order a particular panel (and therefore have a high price), you will be notified and given a chance to cancel your order and wait for next time when hopefully someone else will also have an interest. Some of you have been working with Dave Bradley on new designs. Now is the time to finalize those if you are still interested. When new designs become available during the order process, I will add them to my web site chart and notify the MOTM list. Dave may be out of touch for a couple of days on some personal matters. We will take as much time as needed to accommodate everyone's order provided you don't procrastinate. If you don't see what you are looking for, drop me an e-mail. -------- end of MOTM list message ------------- Here is the link to the panel info page: http://www.wiseguysynth.com/larry/panel.htm As many of you know, some panels that we sell Paul does not want discussed on his MOTM list. And, I certainly always honor that request. Therefore, those panels are kept on a separate "private" list. When you select the GIF or JPG panel list from the panel page link above you will be directed to all the panels that are OK with Paul. But, at the very bottom of either of the GIF or PDF panel pages, hidden under the "Return to Panel Page" hypertext you will find a link (small white "x") that will take you to the additional available panels. Just remember, I do not wish to see these discussed publicly on the MOTM list out of respect for Paul's wishes. However, they are indeed available.
