Patchell Vocal Filter

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone out there was planning on or
working on making one of those Patchell Vocal Filters.

Thanks

Howard
Thanks for this post, glad I belong to these mail lists or I'd end up completely missing things like this.
After briefly going thru the info, this looks like something I'd be interested in. That front panel could be scarey, 45 pots and 13 jacks, will take up some space.
Were you looking at putting together a panel design for this ?

Gary

I have one of Jim's Vocal Filter PCBs, but have yet to start on it. I
think the module has some awesome potential. However, Jim himself has
commented that making a repeatable patch is close to impossible.

Gary, Be sure to download and read the documentation on the Vocal Filter
from Jim' site ( http://www.silcom.com/~patchell/index.html ). There is
a recommended build that includes fewer pots that makes the circuit
still useful, but less complex.

I am working on a panel design right now, and let me tell you it's
big, MOTM format 8u wide. I can upload it but, take note, it isn't
done. I would hate for somone to have it made up without it
being completed. But I would like to get a few people to look at it
for some "proof reading". I will put it in a folder called
Knarleybass.

Well... I've assembled the PCB. Finished it weeks ago in fact. I haven't had
time to do anything about a panel yet though. I have a number of dual shaft
10k pots that I intend to use to cut down on panel real-estate.

How long did it take you to get all the 100k resistors installed?

A vely long time :)

At least 10 hours were spend stuffing the PCB - easilly more.

wow,
I think I have that much time in just the resistors and diodes!!!
Tonight I start on the caps.
