Punches and Dies

Punches and Dies

2004-08-11 by Jeff Brown

Hi Y'all,

I finally procured a Roper-Whitney model 17 punch press off of ebay. I
got the idea from someone on this list (or another list) who got one.
It is definitely better than drilling all of those panel holes with a
drill press.

The problem is, I cannot find anyone who will sell me punches and dies
for it. It came with a 3/8" (just right for my 1/4" jacks), but I
still need other sizes. Roper-Whitney doesn't return my calls or
answer my emails (when the emails don't bounce!). The couple of online
tool vendors that I've contacted (or tried to) are no help. Does
anyone on this list know where I can find puches and dies for a model 17?

Thanks,
Jeff

I bought mine (and the press itself) at MSC:

Hi, which press did you buy? Do you have a part number for it from mscdirect?

It's the Heinrich deep-throat model listed on the page above. I think you
can special order square punch and die sets for it too.

Woohoo!

MSC has a branch not far from me. I was able to order the punches and
dies I need over the phone. Thanks for the tip!
