I bought one of these boards and was thinking of designing a
similar panel. Thanks!

I assume this was designed for the Panasonic potentiometers
that mount to the pcb. I have some of those and don't
believe they will mount through a 3 mm panel thickness.

I was wondering how you were planning on mounting the pcb
with this panel.

If you saw my post on the Blacet list, I noted that the bushing on the
Panasonic pots is short. I happened to have some of these pots on hand,
left over from another Blacet to MOTM conversion, and I tried it out on
an actual FPE 3 mm thick panel. *If the washer is left off, enough
threads poke through to grab with the nut.* With six of these, they
won't have to be tightened very hard to hold the board well.

The beauty of this approach is that the board mounts right to the
panel. No fooling with brackets or externally mounted pots. I'm
definitely going with this, because I like to conserve panel space. I
will get two Blacet mixers in 2U. (I will be using a slightly different
panel than the one I uploaded. I decided to make two small circuit
modifications. The first is to mix the C&D inputs to the D output, and
the second routes the D output into the AB output, if nothing is plugged
into the D output jack, a'la the Blacet Quad VCA design. So my version
will be either two 2-in 1-out mixers, or one 4-in 1-out mixer, depending
on whether a jack is inserted to the 'CD' output. Also, since the D
bias can be included in the 'abcd' output, a bias of +/-10V becomes
possible, too. To accomplish this, I am cannibalizing one of the ICs
formerly used for LED driving.)

I designed a similar panel for the Blacet Stonz VC Phaser. The 'B'
output doesn't fit, but everything else does, including the regen
polarity switch. So I plan add a couple of these modules to my system
eventually, too.
