Oh Christ, might as well cover all the factoids: Brian Ferdirko's main gig is the midi-god at a studio called Extacy that's owned by one of the guy's from the band X-Japan, who I believe Thighpaulsandra worked with in the 90's. Extacy is the place that has the wall of modular gear, including a 3 racks by eight feet Doepfer, and huge Buchla 200's, 100's, Polyfusions, Aries', Moogs, Arp 2500's, Emu's, Serge's and a Synthi 100, not to mention five Fairchild compressors, about 76 Neve mic pre's, two thrity foot long SSL consoles, Joni Mitchell's old dual manual Mellotron and the grand piano which used to be at Lincoln Center and is signed by both Aaron Copeland and Leonard Bernstein. This is the studio which was recording the tracks for an upcoming musical last summer which stars the singer from Skinny Puppy, Paul Servino and Paris Hilton. I met her there last summer, btw. She was quite nice, was engaged in our brief introduction and her dog is cute. Brian was originally brought into Extacy to help buy all this equipment when the studio was formed in early 90's. Another who helped in that was Chris Pitman, who went on to become a keys player with Tool, who is now with Guns N' Roses, who I've become good buddies with since he approached us at Namm last year about doing that system for them. Next up: my pre-highschool years. just kidding.
