Plan B assembly/inspection Stamps

2008-10-09 by (i think you can figure that out)

In order to address some quality issues of late, Plan B has instituted
a Assembly/Test stamp system which will provide identification of the persons involved in assembling and testing our modules. The stamps come in two flavors (square = assembly; circle = test/inspection) and can be identified as follows:

EAR 1 (in a circle) : Peter Grenader
EAR 2 (in a square) : Sam Hernandez
EAR 3 (in a square) : Sergio Trejo
EAR 4 (in a square) : Dylan Sang
EAR 5 (in a square) : Katira
EAR 6 (in a square) : Elias Angula

Effective immediately here will be three stamps on every assembly -
one on the PCB, signifying who built it, one on the back of the
faceplate in a square signifying who did the final assembly and EAR 1
in a circle on the back of the faceplate as well signifying that I
have tested the module.

Please allow some time for these to work their way through the
unmarked stores inventory at our dealers.

Why is this important? Identifying the assembler will yield the same
results as Matrixsynth when they stopped accepting anonymous postings
– it forces accountability for both the errors we make and they things
we do well. It's our personal signature so to speak.

I am confident that these watermarks will have a positive effect on
both our workmanship standards and test yields.
