Namm Gore... I arrived late, coming straight from Phil Gallo's lab where we fit the Model 30 into the Zero case for the first time. When I arrived, about 12:30 or so the Noisebug booth was packed. Chris Pitman of Sex Tapes and Guns N' Roses, always a blast, there was Gary Chang, Naut Humon, Clay Duncan, Elliot Lipp, Dave Smith, Brandon Daniel, Robert Rich and that other guy....what's is his name again? Oh yeah, Herbie Hancock. The Model 30 was up and running, and although I've been with it and around it for well over a year since it's been in development, yesterday was the very first time I've had any panel time with it of any great measure, and barring the fact we were sharing our two rather minute speakers with two channels of the various Buchla signals, the subsystem is going to make some noise round the community. More details wen I'm able as I'll be taking the Zero home this evening for the specific reason of running it through it's paces in a quieter environment. Update on the Zero: Once we're back from the show, we're running at full clip on it's release. The way things go with Zero Corp, once you place a quantity order for custom product it'll be 11 weeks until you start seeing the first of them. During that time there is much to do on the the other components: there are the corner plates (those which hug the radius), the mechanical details of the PSU, the faceplate designs of what will probably be called the Ork modules - the ones that fit on the top and bottom strips, a bunch of stuff going on while we're waiting for the cases to arrive. The production cases will be painted differently from the one we're showing now...it'll be a dark gun metal gray as opposed to black, they will arrive from Zero pre-drilled to fit our application, the bezel around the edge of the main shell will be shaped a bit differently to accommodate mounting of the rails. So I would say about 13 weeks from now they will hit the streets. As far as price, I am not in a position to talk about that now, but let me say that we have been looking very closely at the average cost per HP of the Doepfer, A. Sol and A. Sys cases and the Zero will be competitive against those standards. A gotta get back to the show...more when I'm able... - P --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "kyle_easterly" <kyle_easterly@...> wrote: > > Can anyone that was at NAMM (or Peter) post all the gory details on > the new releases?
