to put it simply if inelegantly, it's a different time. you could make
the argument (and i am) that stating overtly (and justifiably frankly)
a policy that is the SOP for the people it represents is far better
than letting it go unspoken. to draw a parallel to a company oft
compared to this one (they also make use of opto-isolators), i would
offer that their customer service was far worse. i've even heard that
back in the seventies buchla (oopps) on ocassion refused to do
business with people who were too difficult to deal with.*

maybe peter should raise the prices three fold, higher more people,
drop quality, & raise production. i understand that people are miffed
about whatever; it sucks to put hard, very hard, earned cash down and
have nothing to show for it. but given the awful customer service at
other instrument companies (give DOD/Digitech a call about the WH-1
some time) folks might want to count themselves lucky for not being
told to fuck off.

my friend waited for his easel for, if i remember correctly, over a
year (i may have said this before) before it showed up unannounced.

handmade dammit!

*i've got nothing against and love the company & family.
