In such case DC offset (at the Sum outputs) might be unwanted and thus the DC offset knobs would need to be at 12 o'clock. Both leds should be grey then. I just wonder, if there are practical problems in this situation, such as very sensitive knob settings or DC offset not being exactly zero.
