model 38 adsr w/ model 25 MT audio processor

hello everyone, im new to plan b- forgive me if this is a stupid question... i want to get the m38 and m25. aside from the fact it's name is "audio processor" it says the vca is linear and doesn't that emply it's for voltage... or not necessary.... basicly i like these modules because i have a live rig and need small and multi-purpose modules,... all i want do if play keys....
