QTR-Quadtone RIP

I recently started using the most excellent QTR print tool, and I have a few questions.

Please let me know if these are correct:

If I am printing a 21 step, I want NO COLOR MANAGEMENT, and then select my curve in the QTR driver.

If I am printing an image, I can 
1) choose an ICC and then print through the Epson driver
2) choose NO COLOR MANAGEMENT and then choose a curve in QTR
3) choose a generic QTR_Gray_Matt/Photo profile and then choose a curve in QTR. 

But you would never use both an ICC & QTR.

Did I get all that right?
