I get the same micro banding with QTR on my 1430 but if I use the Epson driver, it prints perfectly. Using QTR, I have to leave at least an 1 1/2 " border to be sure. Looking at the paper size choices in Qtr, it says , let's say. 11x14 but I don't have the borderless option of the Epson driver. I think that the banding problem, for that case, rely more in QTR driver than the printer not being able to print near the border. I made some 11x14 borderless at it prints OK although I don't have the curve option that QTR offers. Speaking of just B&W prints, the ones made with QTR show a much better gradation and ink limit (I'm using both Red River Polar matte and Hahnemhule matte) than the Epson driver.
