I would not leave the PK cart/position empty.  Put the generic (C6b) base
in it.  That will preserve the head and help rinse the system in cleaning,
which happens a lot.  The generic base is compatible with everything I'm
aware of.  MIS sells this base at
http://www.inksupply.com/product-details.cfm?pn=PR-C6BBASE-PT .  For
pigments, this is the base I prefer for all Epson printer types and matte
printing.
