In case anyone else finds it useful. I have put an "Ideal density calculator" excel spread sheet in the tools folder of the files section of of this group. It gives the densities required to give perceptually uniform steps (linear L* progression) between a specified Dmax and Dmin. Enter your Dmax and Dmin. The calculator will list the 'Ideal' 5% step wedge densities between the entered Dmax and Dmin.
