Re: [QuadtoneRIP] No Colour Management

2014-01-27 by Paul Roark

Windows 7, CS 5 and CC, and QTR work fine together. I use both the Epson drive with QTR's ICCs as well as the stand alone QTR rip.

I edit my files in Gray Gamma 2.2. When ready to print, apply a conversion curve to the file and save it to the Desktop with "QTR" in the name. The conversion curve is posted at http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Roark-QTR-ACV.zip .

I have my QTR printing procedure summarized in a short PDF at

Morning everyone,

As you will no doubt know the option for 'No Colour Management' has been removed from Photoshop since CS5 I believe. A 'work around' exists through Adobe Print Utility which allows test charts to be created for profiling etc. As a result the creation of a paper specific B&W ICC profile has been straightforward using the Create ICC Droplet. This allows me to work through the Epson driver with 'Photoshop Manages Colours'.

However, as I'd like to use the QTR print driver (I'm a Windows 7 user)could someone please confirm that the QTR driver works in absolute isolation to the Epson driver. Clearly, the issue is ensuring that colour management is turned off. All of the workflow docs I've read include references to ';no colour management' being engaged on the Epson driver but with this now removed how are users working around this?

Thanks
Garry
