Supplement: I just found this procedure for draining the Epson 3000 lines: 1. Switch on the printer 2. Remove all the ink cartridges 3. Close the compartment door 4. Switch off the printer 5. Wait until the printer stops flashing and making a noise this can take up to 5 mins Removal of old ink is now complete.
