Another solution could be to adapt the charthrob code. If charthrob could output a curve that corrects a negative instead of a postive this curve could be used in QTR. Instead of correcting 255 to 254 the file needs only to be inverted before printing. This is the normal QTR workflow used by many people with the added convenience of a ready to use charthrob curve.
