It ;didn't occur to me that you could just
enter new densitometer readings and not go through the characterization of the
inks. I'll try that.

see how it works with the paper. If you can't linearize/icc it
yourself, see if someone you know has a densitometer to use for the
tuning of the existing curve(s). Someone on the list may have such a
curve already done they will share with you.
