Hi Brian:

Which printers are you referring to in the last paragraph below….the R 1900/2000?

That's a mighty fine question. I have another piece of single-developer photo software that I use heavily, about which I ask the same question.

I don't have either of these printers, but I'd like to say thank you to Roy and his helpers for the upgrade. Given the similarity of the 3880 and the P800, you'd think that getting QTR to work on the P800 would be simple. And perhaps it was, but the real work must have been in recreating all those curves because of the SureColor inkset. That must take some time and effort and access to printers and ink and paper. For this Roy must surely have had some helpers. Whoever you are, we thank you.

There will also be the P400 to support in a few months. I hope that it's possible. I suspect that in fact for piezography use it would be possible to tell QTR that it's an R1900 or R2000, since I am fairly sure that it's almost identical to the R2000, with only cosmetic upgrades and the new inkset.

This family of printers are really great for piezo, because they're the last of the eight channel carts-on-head printers, which are easy to maintain, swap inksets and hibernate. And in recent times I've also discovered that they actually closely related to the x880 printers, so much so that I have been able to migrate x880 curves to the R1900 / R2000 simply by swapping the order of the inks around in the .quad file, which means that I and one other user have been able to use P2 rather than K7 on this printer. I don't understand why more people don't use them. They're a much better built printer than the 1430, and not that much more expensive with current cash-backs. Same will apply to the P400.
