I know how you feel, because I have been there...

Inside the downloaded QuadtoneRip folder, there is a file named QTR-Linearize-Quad, this is a special document type called droplet. Magical things happen when you select a quad file (which has exytention .quad) and measurement file together and drug the two onto the droplet. This droplet will create a new quad file with file name ending with -lin. This new file is a linearized quad file based on the information in the original quad file and the mesurement file. Now how do you make the mesurement file? The best way is to use a densitometer or a spectrophotometer such as DTP-41 or i1Pro2. And use a profile making software such as ColorPort or i1Profiler. You can create mesurement files directly from those softwares as text files. If you don't have those you can use a scanner and mesure the lightness in a image editing software such as Photoshop. It will be a lengthy process this way but I can show you if you want me to.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
