You take an image of a solid color with the color of (R,G,B) 247,0,255, and print it in the Calibration mode. Scale it up to fill an 8x11 sheet if need be.
What you should get is a solid black (of light Cyan, if you are printing in color inks) sheet.
I suspect that if it is not printing, the color is incorrect to fire the LC channel. If you took it through any image profile conversions anywhere, you may have converted it to an incorrect color for the calibration mode to work properly on it.
It works for me well when I have done this.
