Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Centering a photograph in Print-Tool

2016-09-27 by Roy Harrington

The big printers sometimes miss a little with sheet feed -- rollers slip a little before grabbing paper,
especially with heavier paper. What I do for this is give a very slight push on the paper when its
about to grab -- just enough to put a little bit of pressure on it.

Not sure if this issue is the same as mine, but I discovered that my Epson 9890 does not accurately feed sheets. (Roll paper positioning is spot on.)

When I sheet feed the machine, the resulting (centered) print has a top margin that is 0.1875 too short. (That is, the image is 0.1875 moved upward). Knowing this is a constant issue, I simply add 0.2 to the top margin, and then subtract 0.01. That gets me close enough for govt. work.
