Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Help With Making QTR Curve

2017-02-19 by Larry

Was the output message you got after following the procedure I wrote up for the colormunki?

http://www.cyberhalides.com/piezography-printing/relinearising-piezography-curves-with-a-colormunki/

If so, I would be interested in figuring out why the procedure failed to work for you. The only problem I've encountered so far is if the profile used doesn't produce patches linear enough to linearize. the other problem I might encounter is if the initial profile actually produces "reversals". This happened for me when I accidently put a patch in the wrong order. However, if the shadows are "crushed" and very close together, you may get a reversal which, if memory serves me correctly, will give that "Lab values are not in order."
