I seem to have had a breakthrough this evening having finally managing to create a curve with no linearisation errors after 6 months of trying :-)
I started by using a copy of the PK Raw Neutral curve and just pasted the Linearised data from the new Data Tool which Roy introduced back in Nov 2017 into the bottom of the file. The Linearized data information was gathered after measuring the 21 step grayscale using the copy of the PK Raw Neutral curve.
The results after printing an image on some test paper looked far better than the ABW driver produces.
Question:
I left all the other data in the RAW file as default such as INK Boost, Ink levels etc etc etc
For those with more experience than I have, do you find that you have to tweak those other options in the descriptor file or do you find the defaults are more or less on the money.
If the other options do need tweaking then due to the lack of experience, then I shall bite the bullet and purchase the QuadToneProfiler—QuickCurve-K3 created by Richard Boutwell as this appears to do most of the heavy lifting.
