You can also send image files directly to the printing system (CUPS) via the command line, using the ‘lpr’ utility. I don’t recommend this method for most people, but I’ve used it when I wanted to be 100% sure ColorSync wasn’t in the loop, and when I didn’t want to point-and-click a dozen different UI elements for multiple prints.
