Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Using QTR and Epson k3 Inks for making digital negs on OHP

Mick, I don't have any email from you, and the only thing I can find with your address are posts you made through this group before when I posted my page about the settings in the ink descriptor file three months ago.

I don't see any order you may have placed for any version of my software either, so I am not sure I know what you are referring to here: "But, while the previous Excel based version does seem to work to a degree, getting detailed help on it was extremely difficult. Several questions still remain unanswered and the documentation does not answer them."

I don't know what version of what system you mean, and I don't know what questions you have unanswered (because I can't find any unanswered question). If you emailed me and didn't get a response please send it again.

John, I haven't posted here in a long time, and haven't even announced the new stuff here before yesterday (or even made a blog post to point people to). Thanks for the suggestions about the video and trial version of the new software. I'll consider it for the next release/update.

About how well it works: Most of the comments people have made about the new digital negative software were through social media or direct emails to me. I'm not going to share the private comments, but here are a few that people posted in the digital negative facebook group from over the past month or so:

"Richard Boutwell allowed me a sneak peak at his new app a few weeks ago. It is so simple and easy I thought for sure I was doing it wrong. Richard Boutwell just made making digital negs with K3 inks and linearizing a matter of minutes and not hours. If you're making digital negs with K3 inks, this is a MUST have piece of software that you won't regret buying. Good-Bye Excel, Hello https://www.bwmastery.com/quadtoneprofiler-digital.../ Thanks Richard Boutwell this is amazing and exactly what I've been waiting for!"

"After 20 years of almost daily Platinum Printing practice, I’ve never used such a smart, powerful and user friendly Digital Negative system!
This is the first print made with the first Linearized Quad in a snap.
And its full potential has not been explored, yet…"

"I, today, just made a quick test with my P7000. After the test I wrote him an email and basically I am complaining about this app makes digital negative way too simple for all kinds of alternative processes! Come on Richard! How am I gonna teach DN in my country for 5 days now!!?! For now, it only takes an hour to make a print from ground floor!"

All the best,
Richard Boutwell
