Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Getting started

Sharon, I don't have a 2200 any longer but let me see if I can
remember the steps;

If you're going to use the inks that came with the printer they're
called UC - for UltraChrome - and you printer has an 8th cartridge
that's a special "matte black" for B&W printing. Anyone one out there
correct me on this please! If this is your situation I believe you
use Quad2200.

That means it may take several prints to flush out the old black ink
before the new ink gets to your paper.

Ink companies make special sets of ALL black cartridges (different
shades) for the 2200 but you still have to flush out the old
UltraChrome ink to take advantage of these other inks and that gets
expensive.

Cheapest way to start may be to use Quad2200, the UC inks you have
(replace the black with "matte black"- look it up in your owners
manual) and print out several prints on cheap paper.

And remember, you've got to select the proper paper profile, with MK
after it's name, to get the printer to print B&W.
