JH, When answering these types of question, the first thing I keep in mind is the total work flow; ALL in house_ you, your computer, monitor and printer? Outside destination? Why? Well, the proof set up, under the view tab is an important element to getting color/density correct prints. What is your current workflow with a digital file? Is there more than one capture device? What kind?
