QTR-Quadtone RIP

Hi all, if I were to embark on the process of creating a curve for
the 2200 K7 PremierArt Hot Press with PrintFix Pro would I essentially
follow the Creating and Linearization of curves in the QuadTone RIP
user Guide?  Also, is it possible to get as smooth of a curve/ramp as
the one supplied by Cone for the K7 inkset?  I have searched the
archives here and the piezography3000 forum and I get the idea users are
successfully doing this, so I am trying to gather any many "clues" as 
possible before I try.

Any help would be great.
