You actually already have some "cheap" software with you EyeOne. There's a program called EyeOne Share that comes with your Pro and will make spot readings for densitometer use. (It's usually used to do things like read garment or other swatches that can then be accurately converted to Pantone, RGB, CMYK, etc.) You can use your "L" reading from L*a*b instead of Dmax.
