Epson R2400, Neutral-K7 and QTR Problem

2006-11-21 by a_hammerbacher

Hi,

I bougth a set of Piezography Neutral K7 inks for the Epson R2400 and
a tried to print with the QTR.
I've choosen Hahnemuehle Photorag (bought in Germany) and the QTR
Settings as follows.

Printer: Epson R2400
Printer Type: QuadR2400-K7
Media Source: Manual Roll
Media Type: Matte
Resulution:2880 and 1440 (I tried both, with almost the same result)
Speed: Better
Dither:Ordered
Curve: K7-2880-HanPhotorag and K7-2880-HanPhotorag (Tried both with
the same results)
Ink Limit: 0
Gamma: 0

The result where poor, because the ink is bleeding on edges between
dark and light areas. I've checked the paper in the printer, but the
coated side was in the correct position. I have no glue, where this
"bleeding" comes from and how I can get rid of it. For me, It looks
like, that the printer/QTR puts much to much ink on the paper, because
the paper is totally soaked with ink and gets undulated. I also
reduced the Ink Limit to -15 with only minor changes in the result.

Does anybody know, how to solve this problem?
Are there differences in the Hahnemuehle Paper between the US and
Germany which can affect the QTR-Profiles?

thanks and regards
Andreas
