light band in the last 10mm of an A4 landscape print

2006-11-30 by melvin9347

Hi,

I am using an Epson photo stylus 870 and Lyson quad black ink. I
am a newbie but I have managed to get a very acceptable neutral print
after a lot of false starts only to have my rejoicing and Roy Cheque
halted by this phenomenon ( the feint light band in the last 10mm). I
have read a few of the posts on banding and came accross the one
refering to the weave at the begining and end of a print. The suggestion
then being to leave a larger border arround the print. Is my problem in
this category? and if so does this mean that I should always reduce the
landscape by 10mm at each end? As far as I can tell - though they were
different subject matters - it does not appear to be present in
portrait mode. Having said this it is still a great product that pays
you back for all the effort to get to grips with curves and I would go
as far as saying the prints are arguably as good if not better than I
used to get out of a darkroom ( bear in mind I am not a pro)
