Hi,
I’ve been using QuadtoneRIP for a couple of months now (Epson 2200 and Ilford Smooth pearl paper). and have been very pleased with the results.
I changed to new black cartridges earlier today (Epson originals), and now the prints are looking very strange, (can’t really describe it except to say the blacks have lost their density). Obviously I suspected one of the black cartridges, but when I print b&w using the Epson driver, everything looks ok (other than the usual green cast!!).
Could this be a black ink problem, even though the prints using the Epson driver are ok? I don’t have any other cartridges to hand to try them out right now. I’ve tried taking the cartridges out, shaking them, putting them back and then re-charging the printer, same results.
Thanks for any help
Bernie

Subject: [QuadtoneRIP] QTR
profiles needed for Piezo ink, 1160/3000 (mac)
I wonder if anyone has
QTR/mac profiles for using the Cone (or similar monotone) inks in
an 1160 and/or 3000? (I have both, both with Piezo
ink). The only profiles built into QTR
are for variable tone and naturally don't work
well, printing a grey scale that has little
change in density between 35 and 75%.
