If it gets so far I could try the 9600 driver. There's a firmware upgrade for the 10000 that gives it 1440 8 pass too. The price of a secondhand 10000 really has to drop considerably to give the right difference to the 9800 with its one year Epson service, but as written before the Euro price of the 9800 will not be like the dollar price.
