Piezography K7 SplitTone Ink set

When I tried using QRT-Quadtone RIP and the Piezography K7 split tone ink set the results 
are darker rather muddy mid-tones and less detail compared to using the Netural K7 ink set. 
Anyone else have same experience? What remedies are there?
