QTR-Quadtone RIP

i have two questions for everyone. i hope you can help. 

i've been test profiling 3 papers with QTR for a couple of weeks using the 2880 instead of the 
1440 resolution setting:

1- is there any real-world difference between these resolutions, or have i been using lots 
of ink for a trivial difference between them?

2- would you recommend that i continue profiling using 2880 or switch to the 1440 
resolution setting? (i think the answer to this question would depend on the first one.)
